Jack (Peter Bergman) dropped his plan to use Dina (Marla Adams) on ‘The Young and the Restless’. His impulsive decision to have his mother testify at a planned hearing where Jill (Jess Walton) would be sued in an effort to force the exhumation of Phillip Chancellor II’s (Donnelly Rhodes) bones, which have been lying in a coffin on Katherine’s (Jeanne Cooper) estate since the 1970’s, has now been called off.
It yet another remarkable turn, Adams played the fully lucid Madame Mergeron in an early set of scenes. Rehearsing in mock trial form, Dina easily answered all of Kyle’s (Michael Mealor) questions.
Jack again heard his mother acknowledge that John (Jerry Douglas) wasn’t his biological father, but that Phillip was. Kyle and Ashley (Eileen Davidson) served as witnesses to further circumstantial evidence that Jack isn’t an Abbott.

However, Adams later returned. Dina was then adorned in a large, pink hat and sunglasses. She also wore a disoriented look on her face that has come to magnificently reflect the brilliance within this great actor’s work.
Adams rightfully competed for a Daytime Emmy Award earlier this year but didn’t secure the statue. Hopefully, next year’s streamed ceremony digitally delivers that deserved, industry accolade.
Y&R’s storyline is about to take a J.T. Hellstrom-type (Thad Luckinbill) turn, as Kyle will literally take matters into his own hands. Following up on a tease he offered to his dad, Kyle will attempt to secure an unauthorized DNA sample from Phillip.
Arriving as an uninvited guest, this shovel-ready young man will try to get the bone fragment Jack needs. Tenured soap viewers know that’s why Esther (Kate Linder) was written into the Fourth of July celebration episode. Her defense of Katherine’s one-time husband endures.
Of course, many different character references to Jill (Jess Walton) indicates that she’ll soon be seen on-screen. Social media posts recently affirmed this great actor’s presence on-set, which means that Jill will likely be back to lambaste and potentially battle Jack within the next handful of weeks in Genoa City.
