The Young and the Restless (YR) Spoilers: Jack Enamored with Helen – Gloria Suspicious of Jabot’s New Chemist

Jack (Peter Bergman) is quite the charmer on ‘The Young and the Restless’. That’s why Gloria (Judith Chapman) is concerned about Helen Wallace (Sitara Hewitt), Jabot’s new chemist. She was hired to take over for Ashley (Eileen Davidson). But ‘Glo’ thinks Helen might fill two roles.

Phyllis (Gina Tognoni) is long gone. She’s Billy’s (Jason Thompson) enduring significant other. Jack’s remained alone since he ended ‘Phack’ and has no prospects.

Gloria knew that her connection with Jack wasn’t romantic, but developed feelings for him anyway. Viewers haven’t seen Chapman, a truly terrific actor, in recent months. Her return this month is intriguing, as it dovetails with Hewitt’s entry.

Whether Hewitt will become a meaningful player is yet to be determined. However, within the fictional realm of Genoa City, Helen is the lauded new hire who is set to become a vital cog within Jabot’s cosmetic’s machine.

Helen obviously offers the elements that Jack desires. She’s highly physically attractive and is a solid addition to the family company he now heads, sans his sister. Not an ‘Innovator of the Year’ award winner, like Ashley. Helen is a few decades Ashley’s junior, but is seen as a rising star in her field.

Ashley was understandably affected by Jack’s recent words and actions. Their Dina- (Marla Adams) based battle dramatically changed the dynamic of this brother-sister relationship.

Fair-minded Abbott observers know that both siblings are equally competitive. So it will be interesting to see if one, or both thrive now that they’ll be working separately.

Jack’s business and personal goal remains to set high marks within his industry and to stick it to Victor (Eric Braeden) when he can. That task became harder through Ashley’s loss.

Ashley surely chose Newman Enterprises’ offer because she believed it afforded her a better career opportunity. Being able to crush, not compete with her brother, also appears to be part of her plans.

Hopefully, Helen does prove to be a good get for Jabot, as Jack suggested to his sister when they were in the Abbott mansion. Possibly, ‘Ash’ will see Helen there as well. Although, the reaction shot on Jack’s face would surely be priceless if his sister brings Victor home one day as well.
