The Young and the Restless (YR) Spoilers: Jack and Victoria Underestimate Victor – Ashley’s Targeting is Reckless

Jack (Peter Bergman) and Vickie (Amelia Heinle) have cooked up a scheme on ‘The Young and the Restless’. Their plan aims to make Ashley (Eileen Davidson) look like a mole who was planted inside Newman Enterprises. In order for this ruse to work, they’ve convinced themselves that Victor (Eric Braeden) is naive.

So, Vickie gave Jack watermarked copies of the deal Ashley just finalized with a company Newman is about to buy. Jack will take that apparent ironclad evidence and use it to stamp Ashley as his plant inside of Victor’s company.

This plan sounds like something Vickie’s dad would do, or do to specifically to Jack. If the observing audience can figure that out, why would the ‘Black Knight’ bite hard?

There’s another foolish point at the center of this proposed bamboozle as well. Assume, for argument’s sake, that Victor somehow takes the bait, calls Ashley on the carpet and fires her. Wouldn’t he offer some type of explanation when doing so? Wouldn’t Ashley then determine that Vickie was behind it all?

Okay, those reaction shots and words are seemingly certain. But if the plan is to make it look like Ashley was merely a plant and was feeding information to Jabot, then wouldn’t she (Ashley) link Vickie and Jack to each other at some point?

Jack and Vickie share a common insecurity. Vickie believes that Ashley is a real threat to her future advancement to the Chief Operating Officer’s chair and she’s right. Jack knows that his sister is brilliant. Ashley may bury Jabot because she’s gained access to Newman’s endless pockets and holds a lifetime of insider information that can be leveraged to make life hard, if not impossible for her family’s company.

Jack claims he’s conspiring with Vickie to help Ashley. It’s his way of helping his sister by keeping her away from the ‘Moustache’ ? What a joke.

Has Vickie considered how her dad will react if this plan backfires? What if Jack blurts out, or inadvertently reveals the truth some day? Then again, Victor, Ashley or both could realize what happened. Victor could then easily fire Vickie, instead of Ashley.

This plan is wrong and far too risky. But Jack and Vickie put it into motion because they are reckless. Ironically, both people are proving why Ashley would have been the better CEO at Jabot and why Vickie might be replaced by Ashley now that Miss Abbott is working at Newman Enterprises.
