Jack (Peter Bergman) and Ashley (Eileen Davidson) were talking about Billy (Jason Thompson) on ‘The Young and the Restless’. When the conversation turned to gambling, Ashley thought about the odd financial dealings she was aware of. A quick check then confirmed that Billy had pulled money away from research and development, which is her lifeblood.
Y&R is establishing the coming write-out of Davidson’s character this fall. The lead-in to that appears to involve Billy and Jack wrestling for power within the family company. Hardcore viewers know that Bergman’s character isn’t currently part of Jabot. But once his paternity storyline is resolved it makes sense to think he’ll be back somehow.
Billy believes the blood Abbott clause protects him from all attempts to quash his power. Ashley and Jack (or so it’s been said) aren’t John’s (Jerry Douglas) biological children. Tracey (Beth Maitland) seemingly is, but she has no interest in corporate affairs.

The idea that Thompson’s character would be the Chief Executive Officer at Jabot is rather ludicrous, based on Billy’s track record and plain logic. Yet, the company is making money and investing in trends that are meeting modern customer demands. So, for the time being, Billy’s reign continues.
Jaboat seems likely to be the anchor that helps to bring Billy down. He didn’t win that million-and-a-half dollar toy at a poker game, as Jack speculated. But Billy did lose it to Sinead (Lira Kellerman) at a card contest and then later won enough to buy the yacht that’s name is a wink at the company his father founded.
Jack’s biological search was shelved a few weeks ago. Savvy fans suspect that when Y&R writes him back to that quest that Billy, not Jack, will be revealed as the non-Abbott. Thus Jack’s reaffirmed Jabot boot will then kick his not-even-half brother out of the CEO chair.
Ashley’s been marginalized upon her return. Jack doesn’t want back in, yet, while being fully leery of his perceived brother. Yes, ‘Billy-boy’ is in danger of soon sinking.
