The Young and the Restless (YR) Spoilers: J.T. Still Dead – Random Guy Holds Cell Phone

The Young and the Restless (YR) Spoilers: J.T. Still Dead – Random Guy Holds Cell PhoneJ.T. (Thad Luckinbill) remains dead on ‘The Young and the Restless’. However, it’s understandable that Nick (Joshua Morrow) and Phyllis (Gina Tognoni) thought they saw him. A random guy, who somewhat resembled J.T. when viewed from afar, picked up the cell phone Phyllis disposed of at the airport, which explains why that piece of tech’s signal was inserted into this week’s script.

Unless it’s announced that Luckinbill will be playing a new character, he’s not returning to this CBS steamer. Therefore J.T. is done, finished, over. Theorizing Luckinbill as J.T.’s twin, or a look-a-like isn’t reality, yet.

Phyllis, like one other member of her quartet, wasn’t thinking straight after J.T. expired. As Y&R fans recall, Sharon (Sharon Case) was the only character who continued to press for police involvement until she later changed her mind. Vickie (Amelia Heinle), the actual victim in this matter, was the first to try to contact the authorities before J.T. stopped her.

Covering up Nikki’s (Melody Thomas Scott) accidentally murderous reaction was Phyllis’ idea. She feared Paul’s (Doug Davidson) wrath, based upon the ‘Pristine’ incident. That storyline incident took place many years ago when Michelle Stafford embodied ‘Red’, who attempted to remove Paul and Christine (Lauralee Bell) from Genoa City via a vehicle bump.

Nikki’s head bump was not premeditated. She had no idea J.T. would be in Vickie’s house that night, but he was. After hearing Vickie’s raised voice, Nikki, Phyllis, and Sharon ran upstairs and happened upon a raging J.T. and the rest became Y&R history.

Luckinbill’s controversial exit was intended to stir the audience for varying reasons. All involved characters then voluntarily put themselves into crime territory by opting to not report J.T.’s demise and then buried him in Chancellor Park.

So, again, J.T. isn’t alive. Whether the cell phone angle proves to unearth further trouble remains to be seen. But surely this story won’t remain buried forever, right? If so, the puns will continue and that wouldn’t be good.
