The Young and the Restless (YR) Spoilers: J.T. And Vickie Reconnect – Reed Lives at Newman Boot Camp

Three character’s lives changed, to varying degrees on ‘The Young and the Restless’. J.T. (Thad Luckinbill) and Vickie (Amelia Heinle) fought with each other about the past and then reconnected romantically. Meanwhile, Nikki (Melody Thomas Scott) ushered Reed (Tristan Lake Leabu) to the Ranch, where Victor (Eric Braeden) enrolled their grandson in his own personal boot camp.

All events noted above were encouraging. J.T. and Vickie might be finding their way back to each other. Reed will eventually be thankful that his grandparents provided structure in his life. And the elders, Nikki and Victor, did what’s right for their family and for each other.

As an aside, it must have been surreal for Luckinbill and Heinle to perform that ending scene on the steps. The one-time real life married couple (with children) surprisingly announced their divorce in 2017. It would be heart-warming to see J.T.V. reform, but infinitely more meaningful if both actors restored their own family.

The look on Reed’s face when Victor told him that he’d be cleaning out the stables each day, as part of a boot camp-ish routine, was classic. The younger Mr. Hellstrom believed that he was going to be living the ‘Life of Riley’. Old-school kudos to the ‘Great One’, Jackie Gleason, and then William Bendix, both of whom played that classic radio show character.

Reed’s hair cut will soon resemble the length of Gleason’s or Bendix’, as Victor also informed his grandson that grooming was in order. How will this proposed axe star perform after that happens?

Along with Reed’s parent’s spark came ‘Niktor’s’ choice to work together. As Y&R fans know, this longtime Genoa City couple recently reconciled themselves, though via terms that resembled a business deal.

Victor and Nikki are eternal love birds, who always manage to fly back to their joint nest. J.T. and Vickie are different, as they’ve loved other people as deeply. However, Luckinbill’s character will soon be single. That means it’s possible the feelings he once had for Victoria will be revisited.

As for Vickie, she’s brushed off Billy (Jason Thompson). It’s therefore reasonable for daytime devotees to believe that she will give her ex-husband another chance.

While J.T.V. reconsiders itself, Reed will remain enrolled at Boot Camp. The laughter Victor and Nikki shared after Reed left the living room, having learned of his disciplined fate, surely made viewers smile.

It’s nice to see this family functioning. As Newman’s they’re capable of expressing love when necessary, like now.
