The Young and the Restless (YR) Spoilers: Hilary’s Heart Revealed, But Devon Still Rejects Hevon Revival

Hilary (Mishael Morgan) was helping a poor soul on ‘The Young and the Restless’. She hadn’t ditched her job, as Devon (Bryton James) suspected, but instead was genuinely doing good. She hadn’t publicly announced those efforts, which is why her ex-husband was confused.

Mariah (Camryn Grimes) tried to stop Hilary from leaving GC Buzz minutes before the ‘Hilary Hour’ was scheduled to live stream. But she couldn’t, which caused Devon to have yet another emotional knee-jerk reaction. He’s exhibited many of those moments recently, which doesn’t look good on him.

So a newly introduced character, Shauna (Camryn Hamm), arrived at the studio in search of Hilary. She wanted to thank the woman who’s become her mentor. Shauna’s brother is battling addiction issues, which is why she urgently needed Hilary’s help the other day. That explained Hilary’s sudden departure.

Devon was able to track down the former Mrs. Hamilton at the Genoa City Athletic Club. He was then able to tell Hilary that he’d learned why she oddly ditched her job duties the other day.

As devoted Y&R fans know, Devon has come a long way since he suffered due to his mother Yolanda’s (initially portrayed by Chene Lawson and later by Debbi Morgan) drug-related issues. Hilary mentioned his personal history as she confirmed what had happened.

Hilary told the man she still loves and hopes to reconcile with the truth. She didn’t previously mention being involved in a mentor program because it would have seemed self-serving. That admission, along with Devon’s demeanor appeared to further ‘Hevon’ Part II hopes, until Mr. Hamilton dashed them.

Devon’s logic, regarding any rekindling of romance between he and Hilary being regressive, doesn’t make sense. However, the current storyline nicely continues to humanize Morgan’s character. Her status as a top actor in daytime will only be furthered as additional balanced arcs are written for Hilary.

Yes, Devon doesn’t necessarily have to be part of Hilary’s future. But ‘Hevon’ the sequel could produce redemption.
