The Young and the Restless (YR) Spoilers: Hilary Says Goodbye – Y&R’s Sendoff Outstanding

Mishael Morgan (Hilary) had an opportunity to become a star on ‘The Young and the Restless’ and she delivered. Now, after her five year run ended, Y&R is showing how an outstanding character sendoff is done.

Y&R is presenting an extended goodbye to a character who was new to Genoa City in 2013. Legacy characters abounded (and still do) in this fictive Wisconsin setting. That makes the Hilary character that was created and Morgan’s ever-superb efforts in that role for the past half-decade all the more impressive.

This week, some of the sadder scenes that have been digested in awhile are being gifted to soap viewers, who have always ranked with the most knowledgeable, passionate, and loyal entertainment supporters. Hilary already lost her baby and only has days (episodes) to live, which has sparked Devon’s (Bryton James) remarriage request and the love of his life’s instant acceptance.

The series of goodbye scenes between Morgan and many of the key cast members she’s worked with during her tenure takes Y&R fans behind the scenes in plain view of each multi-camera, hospital room shot. The obvious good vibes this actor shared with her colleagues are apparent. Great moments in soap allow the script pages to be peeled back, which allow a peek at who their favorite players really are.

When a previously unknown actor, who has no industry ties, makes it in Hollywoodland it means that all odds have been defied. Morgan did that by succeeding in daytime on TV’s number one, ultra iconic and enduring daytime show. Full kudos are offered by all who value just how much talent, persistence, and resilience Morgan projected to make that happen.

Hilary’s loss will be significant. The grief Devon and all others who love her, or were part of her aura in any way will linger.

Morgan will be deeply missed, as her presence was always worth the watch. She’ll soon deliver another child, expanding her family to four. So possibly someday she’ll return to GC in a different role. If that never happens, then these five stand out years will have to do.
