The Young and the Restless (YR) Spoilers: Hilary Dies – Mishael Morgan Delivers Epic, Emmy-Worthy Performance

Let there be no doubt, Mishael Morgan (Hilary) delivered many Emmy-worthy performances on ‘The Young and the Restless’ during her five-year run. But the epic write-out that’s developing is by far her greatest work. This actor must be considered as the leading candidate to capture a Daytime Emmy Award next year.

Morgan was, arguably, Y&R’s fiercest star at the time this expectant mother voluntarily left the cast. Hilary owned all scenes she appeared in, which always underscored that scripts and all connected backstage efforts created opportunities, but undeniable talent drove her storylines home. She was, in sad past tense use, the Victoria Rowell (Drucilla) of this era.

As seasoned viewers recall, Rowell gave life to a fiery young lady who was determined to create a life for herself in Genoa City all those years ago. Dru married Neil (played by the equally great legacy cast member Kristoff St. John), give birth to Lily (Christel Khalil), through Malcom (Shemar Moore), adopted Devon (Bryton James), and established herself as a dancer, model, and business woman.

Skip to current day Genoa City, as Hilary lies in a hospital bed. Heart-wrenching, sorrowful scenes, as an all-out memorable final bow unfolds.

Hilary was grateful to be pregnant. She and Devon were far along on the path to a full reunite. Together, they’d already revived ‘Hevon’ and then the couple was suddenly, staggeringly eviscerated.

Lily ran the red light because she was arguing with Hilary about Shauna (Camryn Hamm) and Charlie (Noah Alexander Gerry). A big rig approached on the left side of the screen, a horn screamed, and Hevon’s baby would never be born. The child’s mother took the full-force of this tragic accident and now lies near death.

All goodbye’s will play out. Devon will come to marry his true love. And then Hilary will be a memory.

Y&R’s seasoned fan base will rightly place Mishael Morgan in the pantheon of its great cast members. Best wishes to this spectacular actor and her developing, real life family.
