The Young and the Restless (YR) Spoilers: Hilary Boxed In – Devon Maintains Access and Control

Hilary’s (Mishael Morgan) daydreams were as hilarious as they were revealing on ‘The Young and the Restless’. In one instance her fatherly choice opted to take his baby, in another a different daddy was arrested. Both imaginings reaffirmed Devon (Bryton James) as Hilary’s best option to marry and have a child with in the near future.

Mr. Hamilton boxed her in at work, via the stringent contract terms she agreed to. By doing so he’s purposely maintained access to the woman that he still loves. Hilary suspects that’s true, yet hasn’t been able to confirm her hoped-for suspicions.

Together, ‘Hevon’ was passionate, while also, eventually exhausting. Devon simply couldn’t take any more of Hilary by the beginning of 2017. So he pushed Hilary for a divorce, which she surprisingly agreed to.

The amicable parting was enabled by Devon granting Hilary’s wish for one material item. She wanted full ownership of GC Buzz, which happened.

A developed interest in having a baby was natural, as Sam’s birth allowed Hilary to find motherhood within herself. However, Hilary’s sudden desire to relinquish control of her company a few months ago felt like a forced storyline, because it was.

Mariah (Camryn Grimes) served as the sounding board for Hilary’s new life plan. The Hilary Hour sidekick was told, in part, that a secure future (including baby goals) were connected to the need to gain top dollar for GC Buzz as soon as possible. Thus the setup for Devon’s reacquiring of the website and streaming TV show happened.

Current dialogue and developments aren’t leading to an imminent revival of ‘Hevon’, but Y&R’s writing team have pushed Hilary and Devon together. That alone is good for the show, as Morgan and James are strong individually and even better when working in tandem.

Hopefully, in the not too distant future, their characters will reunite and start a family. A sequel to ‘Hevon’, including a baby would provide many opportunities for both actors to shine and great arc to be presented. This couple’s second chance would offer different storyline opportunities through character growth.
