The Young and the Restless (YR) Spoilers: Helen’s Reveal Deepens Conspiracy – Jack Faces Enemy Within

Helen (Sitara Hewitt) appeared to be Jack’s (Peter Bergman) new chemist on ‘The Young and the Restless’. But she’s been revealed as something more than that. No, Miss Wallace hasn’t become Mr. Abbott’s (or whatever his last name actually is) emerging significant other. Instead, she’s Victor’s (Eric Braeden) latest dalliance!

This new character was written into the storyline when Ashley (Eileen Davidson) and Jack battled about linked personal and business matters. The attempt to unseat Jack failed when Kyle (now played by the recast Michael Mealor) cast the deciding no-confidence vote against his father. However, Jack wasn’t ousted as Jabot’s Chief Executive Officer.

Bergman’s character is crafty and prides himself on thinking ahead. While it wasn’t his intent, Jack invoked the blood-Abbott clause he put into the family company’s bylaws years ago. As a result Ashley couldn’t replace him as she planned.

Miss Abbott (Davis) was furious and opted to leave Jabot. She truly had no career plan, but was overwhelmed by Victor’s offer to become Newman Enterprises’ Chief Innovation Officer. Her request for a seat on the Board of Directors was also met, which allowed her to work for Jack’s enduring nemesis.

So Jack conducted a job search and happened upon Helen. Her professional backstory seemed appealing and she was hired.

Now, in an unusual twist, it turns out that Helen became involved with Victor after arriving in Genoa City. Whether that means she was co-opted isn’t fully known. But Jack now faces another enemy within his company in addition to Kyle.

As Y&R fans know, Kyle just acknowledged that he plans to take Jabot public. His scheme with Victor would have the ‘Moustache’ scoop up enough shares to take control of the company John Abbott (Jerry Douglas) founded.

Will Jack be able to stop this coup? Is Helen a long-term character, or just a side player who has appeared a few times and will soon be gone? The answer to these and other questions compel daytime fans to keep watching developments in GC.
