The Young and the Restless (YR) Spoilers: Devon Warns Hilary – Both Halves of Hevon Must Walk the Talk

Hilary (Mishael Morgan) thought that her words would make an impact on ‘The Young and the Restless’. The host of the ‘Hilary Hour’ might chide the omission of the trendy word ‘impactful’ in the last line of this non-script. But Devon (Bryton James) and everyone else knows that life isn’t just about word choices, it’s also about actions.

Her on-air (or is it online?) apology was heart-felt. Hilary was being genuine. GC Buzz bees might force-correct by insisting that Miss Curtis was keeping it real. Ah yes, ‘keeping it real’ is more modern than saying ‘was being genuine’ in the minds of those who truly believe that only some words matter, or matter more than others.

Devon doesn’t just talk. He listens. That’s a trait of a wise individual. Hey, he’s made mistakes in his life and no, marrying Hilary wasn’t one of them. Actually, the divorce he wanted may have been the error. Wait, was this script just flipped?

Hilary is on her own. Her childhood was hard, just like Devon’s. But Devon was adopted by two loving parents, which allowed his view of reality to be radically improved.

Devon’s adopted dad, Neil (Kristoff St. John), was the first member of the Winters’ clan to show Hilary what forgiveness looks like. That’s something Devon must never lose sight of, or how he betrayed Neil by becoming involved with Hilary. Neil forgave Devon and now has a positive relationship with him, right? Yes.

Mr. Hamilton’s emotion-shift doesn’t have to be unconditional. Hilary does have a recent history, not just an ancient record, of acting in self-centered ways.

‘Hevon’ was a loving couple that had it’s problems. Hilary has flailed since she and Devon amicably ended their marriage. But her interest in having a child and the initial effort she’s offered via her show, in telling people that she’s sorry for having wronged them, can be met with compassion.

Words must be followed by actions, Hilary. Devon, give Hilary continued chances at redemption. That’s what people do for their loved ones.
