The Young and the Restless (YR) Spoilers: Devon Generously Grants Tessa Second Chance – Mariah Also Shown Kindness

Devon (Bryton James) is often written as a nice guy on ‘The Young and the Restless’. In keeping with that view of this character he generously allowed Tessa (Cait Fairbanks) to remain with the Hamilton-Winters Group and reacted kindly when Mariah (Camryn Grimes) explained her past behavior to him.

While both above scenarios can be tagged as unrealistic, this is a soap opera. That’s why it’s actually nice to see humanity presented in a good light, verses exhibitions of the base instincts that are often pushed in daytime.

Tessa plagiarized Mariah’s words. That alone would normally be grounds for irrevocable dismissal. Instead, Devon chose to allow the first artist he signed to his fledgling record label work as a de facto secretary. Some may urge the use of the term administrative assistant, but Tessa wouldn’t press the issue. She’s grateful to have the opportunity to reprove herself and hopefully record again.

Mariah wasn’t honest with Devon when she recently broke up with him. Mitigating circumstances, which were directly related to Tessa and now, to the stolen song lyrics, were explained.

It should be noted that Mariah’s explanation wasn’t voluntary, but only came after Noah (Robert Adamson) filled Devon in about what really happened during the music weekend the then-foursome seemingly enjoyed last year. However, in keeping with Devon’s sincere approach to life, he offered compassion and understanding to his former girlfriend.

There are many storyline directions that can be pursued due to current developments. One of them might well be Devon pursuing another go-round with Hilary (Mishael Morgan), who is his true soul mate.

Hilary is currently making progress with a personal advancement. She’s dropped the GC Buzz gossip angle, which also dovetails with real world efforts to seek truth instead of churning false news to make money. At the same time Miss Curtis has become genuinely interested in having a baby.

‘Hevon’ Part II deserves its own revival, including Devon and Hilary welcoming a new life into this fictional world. Y&R appears to agree, which would please fans of the five solid actors mentioned within this feature.
