The Young and the Restless (YR) Spoilers: Devon Finally Offers Compassion – Hilary Genuinely Happy

Devon (Bryton James) hasn’t always treated Hilary (Mishael Morgan) with compassion on ‘The Young and the Restless’. Whatever she’s done on her end, Mr. Hamilton owns various instances of behaving coldly toward the other half of the one-time ‘Hevon’. Finally, after weeks of tense interactions, Devon made a warm-hearted decision.

Hilary was about to tell Devon the truth about her doctor’s appointment. But the doctor spilled that news instead. ‘Hevon’ fans held their breath, along with Hilary, when that happened.

Yes, Devon has developed a noticeable pattern. He’s the boss and Hilary must do as he says in order to remain connected to him. This time, though, that didn’t happen.

Stepping back from the above analysis, Devon’s current gut-reactions to Hilary grew from a series of events that occurred over the course of years. Her initial attacks against his family eventually led to an unstable life with the woman he married after Neil (Kristoff St. John) divorced her. But it must be said that Y&R’s arguably most charismatic pairing has come a long way since they divorced in the winter of 2017.

Did love ever die between them? No. That’s the core reason why each person wanted, wants and will continue to want to have a baby. As daytime devotees also recall, importantly, Devon said that Hilary was the (capital T in the implied) woman who he wanted to have his child.

His decision to accept Hilary’s explanation about the insemination procedure was preceded by the genuine expression of loss she’d experienced after learning that their perceived pregnancy was merely chemical. Devon has a heart, always has. His compassion for Hilary has simply been covered by a need to protect himself from her inconsistent attempts during their one-time relationship that could well be on-again in the near future.

Hilary noted that this baby, assuming the procedure works, will change their lives forever. Devon gave his full endorsement to the scientific plan that can make this happen and expressed that he wants to be a father.

Here’s hoping ‘Hevon’ Part II is nearing because James and Morgan are outstanding together. These actors deserve further meaty scripts and plenty of dual screen time, indefinitely.
