The Young and the Restless (YR) Spoilers: Dangerous Chemistry Between Nate and Hilary – Devon Stunned

Nate (Brooks Darnell) instantly had Hilary’s (Mishael Morgan) number on ‘The Young and the Restless’. But she didn’t have his and that bothered the mother of Devon’s (Bryton James) child.

Hilary was obviously drawn to Nate. Attraction is a natural part of life and isn’t the issue in this instance. What did create a problem was Hilary’s impulse buy into believing that she was owed details about Mr. Hastings’ personal life.

If Nate hadn’t moved across the hall from the revived ‘Hevon’ and wasn’t Neil’s (Kristoff St. John) nephew, Hilary probably wouldn’t have hit so hard. But her ire was up based, in part on the personal history she has with the Winters and Ashby families.

This early on Nate is not looking to become romantically involved with anyone. As Hilary learned, the one-year anniversary date of the death of his significant other just arrived. He moved to Genoa City to help Victor (Eric Braeden) and to gain a fresh perspective.

It’s been a measured road back to ‘Hevon’. Hilary and Devon parted amicably early in 2017. Then they dated other people, though neither scenario led anywhere meaningful.

Remaining tied to each other’s lives was a clear indicator that love was never lost and that the potential for this one-time couple’s second chance was real. The most expected sequel happened after Devon agreed to have a child with Hilary.

Being pregnant, Morgan’s character has one priority. While a career is relevant, in the end, all exchange of time for money (work) is never more important than family and true friends.

So, baby-to-be must be Hilary’s number one concern. She doesn’t need to get sidetracked, or derailed by shifting her attention away from the baby, herself, and Devon.

Devon will also, hopefully, be able to keep his emotions in check if Hilary’s interest in Nate’s well-being develops. Doing so could push Hilary toward this recast character.

James’ character is the person Hilary loves. ‘Hevon’s’ story is again being told and all fans of this terrific couple want it to play out as long as possible, even considering that Morgan’s cast departure means this version of Hilary will last be seen later this summer.
