Nikki (Melody Thomas Scott) and Vickie (Amelia Heinle) called an emergency meeting of the coverup crew on ‘The Young and the Restless’. Those ladies and the other two needn’t be criminals gathered at their regular meeting place, a wooden booth at Crimson Lights.
The meeting was called to order and the first topic was Y&R’s newest character, Rey (Jordi Vilasuso). Actually, it was the only topic the ladies who put themselves in needless legal jeopardy discussed.
As shown once in each of the last two paragraphs, none of the four people involved had to risk their freedom because of what happened to J.T. (Thad Luckinbill). His multiple actions were criminal, with the most egregious having left Victor (Eric Braeden) for dead at the Ranch.

Vickie’s panic was fully justified as J.T. circled her in their bedroom on that fateful ladies night in. Nikki, Sharon (Sharon Case), and Phyllis (Gina Tognoni) heard voices and ran upstairs. Another member of the gathered group, Mariah (Camryn Grimes), was technically in the house as well, but was knocked out due to overindulging on adult beverages.
This week, in response to Victor’s query, Rey again stated that he works in financial services. What does that mean? Y&R has shrewdly clouded this character’s backstory so needed facts aren’t discernible.

It feels as though Rey is working undercover. But Paul (Doug Davidson) has no link to him, as there was no one noteworthy around when the Chief of Police handed Rey an apparent coffee stirrer that was dropped. That seemed to send a message to viewers that Rey is either a freelancer investigator, or under the employ of a private entity that was somehow linked to Mr. Hellstrom.
Like the audience, the coverup crew doesn’t know what Rey knows or why he’s come to Genoa City. But, as long shots have shown, Rey is definitely suspicious of the four-person contingent whose deadly secret could send each member to jail. Of course that assumes Rey is working on the up and up and isn’t tied to an underground source that J.T. may have been connected to during his earthly life.
