The Young and the Restless (YR) Spoilers: Chancellor Park Descrecrated – J.T.’s Burial Misguided

It wasn’t smart to put J.T. (Thad Luckinbill) in Chancellor Park on ‘The Young and the Restless’. Did Nikki (Melody Thomas Scott) consider what Katherine (Jeanne Cooper) would say about the criminal act that took place in the green space that was named in her honor?

One would expect Jill (Jess Walton) to pull a stunt like this. But Vickie (Amelia Heinle), Phyllis (Gina Tognoni) and Sharon (Sharon Case) followed Nikki’s lead by dragging the carpet roll to the Park.

Behavior apologists were excusing what J.T. was doing while he was doing it. The same is now true for those who may attempt to explain away the group actions taken after Nikki defended her daughter.

Yes, Nikki was arguably defending Vickie the other day. She was being attacked by a mentally unbalanced individual who was obviously out of control. Her mother saw that and acted instinctively.

It’s fair to debate the plot point that was created in order to make Phyllis, of all people, the opinion leader following the aftermath of Nikki’s poker smack. It’s plausible that the shock Vickie and Nikki felt would have allowed them to be persuaded by Phyllis’ words. But Sharon was not attacked by J.T., like Victoria was, nor did she respond like Nikki.

Consider the recent strength Sharon displayed in overcoming Phyllis’ foolish advice about keeping Christian’s (Jude and Ozzy McGuigen) paternity secret from Nick (Joshua Morrow). Sharon’s recent character restoration wouldn’t allow her to be follow Phyllis’ reactionary cover-up plan, yet that happened to further this follow through on the storyline climax.

Why would Nikki believe that Paul (Doug Davidson) would be out to get her? Dialogue that suggested he was no longer her friend undercut the logic and emotion wrapped around J.T.’s powerful write-out.

Nikki was turned from a hero, which she was, into a partial villain. Her odds of being imprisoned increased dramatically due to the Chancellor Park scheme.

Oh Phyllis! Why did you suggest the cover-up? And why did the other ladies listen?
