The Young and the Restless (YR) Spoilers: Cane Pursues Lily – Lane Prospects Appear To Brighten

Cane (Daniel Goddard) was off-course last year on ‘The Young and the Restless’. But 2018 has started nicely, as ‘Lane’ reunion prospects brighten.

Lily (Christel Khalil) was initially conflicted about leaving Genoa City when a surprise job assignment was issued to her by Victoria (Amelia Heinle). Abby (Melissa Ordway) was miffed when Lily then turned and accepted the Paris gig to quickly, considering the progress toward marriage reunion that seemed to be happening with Cane. But working for the Newman family has forced many people to choose between what’s best for their loved ones and the company’s bottom line.

Instead of being a temporary jaunt, Vickie implied that Lily might be in France for months. However, longtime Y&R fans flashed back to ‘Lane’s’ remarriage in the ‘City of Light’. Yes, foreshadowed future scenes, based on a past storyline, were projected in many viewer’s minds. Maybe this would all be for the best?

Meanwhile, Cane was about to eat with Billy (Jason Thompson). The battling duo of stepbrothers just left what seemed to be a successful business meeting and were in the dining room at the GC Athletic Club.

Billy told his current nemesis that he needed to go bold where Lily was concerned. Cane relayed recent developments on that front, which had been positive. But then he realized Billy’s intent and set out to see Lily.

‘Lane’ has experienced trouble through the years. Last year’s Juliet (Laur Allen) matter and the DARE sabotage issue nearly caused Lily to divorce Cane. But the birth of Sam thankfully served to put that decision on indefinitely hold.

Juliet’s in Heaven, hopefully. Sam is alive and needs a mother. Cane and Lily love each other. The twins are hoping to see their parents get back together. All plot factors appear to be winking at ‘Lane’s’ full repair.

Possibly, Paris will be the setting where these two good souls come together. All fans of the involved actors surely hope so. Y&R isn’t setting up the audience for disappointment, right?
