So, Lauren Woodland (Brittany) wasn’t purely a stunt cast on ‘The Young and the Restless’. While she was part of Y&R’s forty-fifth anniversary celebration, Woodland’s character is coming back to Genoa City for a longer stay starting this month. Her professional skills will prove vital.
Christian’s (Jude and Ozzy McGuigen) paternity storyline has been revived, again. This time Victor (Eric Braeden) is suing Nick (Joshua Morrow) for full custody of Adam’s (Justin Hartley) son.
It seemed like a throwaway line at the time. Brittany mentioned that she’d become a lawyer during her time away from Genoa City. She’d married Raul (David Lago) and was very successful. But that bit of backstory dialogue was actually setting up the current storyline between this battling father and son combo.
‘Shick’s’ plan to move to San Diego, California, seemed rushed and a bit contrived. To accept that change was going to happen meant that Y&R was going to take two legacy characters and their daughter, Faith (Alyvia Alyn Lind) off the show. Plus, Sharon (Sharon Case) and Nick just got back together. Would executive producer and head writer Mal Young create that elaborate setup just to have them leave town in a rush? In all likelihood, no.
Something else was coming and that’s when the cottage doorbell rang. Braeden appeared at the tail end of an episode. He personally served his nemesis son with the aforementioned custody papers. That was oh so Victor.
Tenured fans likely must believe that Victor will win the initial legal battle and take Christian from ‘Shick’s’ home. The projected drama is just too good to pass up.

Buzz also indicates that Sharon will agree to leave the cottage in order to help Nick win his case. Both developments will serve to strengthen the bond between this reformed couple.
Nick will probably regain his rights to Christian in time. But the drama will be in watching how everything happens, as Brittany battles the ‘Moustache’ in court.
