The Young and the Restless (YR) Spoilers: Billy Stunned by Jabot Sales – Kyle’s Naked Stunt Works

Did Kyle (Michael Mealor) know what he was doing on ‘The Young and the Restless’? It’s hard to say he didn’t, considering his subsequent reaction. With whatever was true, Billy (Jason Thompson) was stunned by Jabot’s spike in sales of Birthday Suit.

Playing into modern sensibilities, Kyle’s rooftop pool stunt drew eyeballs to screens across the globe. That led to emotionally driven impulse buys. Ah, do modern consumers realize in how many ways they’re being played?

Upon reflection, seasoned fans likely believe that Jacks’ son borrowed from his cousin Abby’s (Melissa Ordway) past when he came out of the pool and appeared live on GC Buzz. Yes, this could have been Kyle’s plan, instead of the so-called accident having happened.

Billy believed that he was already in the soup, approximately a week into taking over from his brother. But no, he’s not. In fact, Kyle’s actions might serve as the initial grease for Billy’s money skid upward. And Jabot is a for-profit company, as the younger Abbott men surely aren’t pushing philanthropy.

Jack was an old-school person. He believed in tradition, has a Rolodex full of contacts that he personally knows, and worked to further John’s (Jerry Douglas) legacy. Well, John supposedly isn’t Jack’s father and that’s why Billy was installed, against his will, as the head of this family’s cosmetics company.

Billy better keeps an eye on Kyle, no matter how high the profits go. Kyle is simply waiting for an opportunity to once again sit in the high chair, where he believes he belongs.

Thompson’s character has often gotten into trouble in the past, which included his look morphing through many hired actors who’ve played this part. But he’s nowhere near as ambitious as the recast Kyle, which puts it mildly.

Kyle has maintained ties with Victor (Eric Braeden). Whether the scheme to topple Jabot, take it over, or whatever will still be realized, or is even desired at this point by Kyle is an open question. But Billy should not trust him, ever.
