Billy (Jason Thompson) didn’t expect his siblings to betray him on ‘The Young and the Restless’. Ashley (Eileen Davidson) and Jack (Peter Bergman) begged him to take the Chief Executive Officer’s slot at Jabot. But their early-summer desperation quickly transformed into mid-August back-stabbing.
Ashley remains convinced that Billy’s Jabotique plans will ruin Jabot. She appreciated his idea but felt that opening thirty stores across the country involved far too much risk. So, she started working behind Billy’s back with Jack and Kyle (Michael Mealor).
Jabotique was developed in secret, as Billy even kept his plans from Phyllis (Gina Tognoni). He rightly believed that it was best to keep a tight lid over his vision for Jabot’s future.
The twenty-first century was sighted as a time band that Jabot must enter, as Jack and Ashley’s leadership appeared more reflective of the era when their dad founded and ran the business. Well, John (Jerry Douglas) is actually only Billy’s biological father, according to Y&R’s current storyline pitch.

Jack’s blood-Abbott clause was created and then placed in the company’s by-laws years ago. At the time he wanted to keep Phyllis (as then played by Michelle Stafford) from being able to seize control of the family beauty products’ business. This very legal language forced Jack out of power earlier this year, as Dina’s (Marla Adams) revelation about her son’s paternity was blurted out.
Whether Billy will be able to withstand what his siblings have wrought, Nick (Joshua Morrow) gaining control over Jabot’s holdings company and significant raising of all thirty Jabotiques rent, remains unknown. However, if he does Ashley, Jack, and Kyle better watch their backs.

Davidson announced her voluntary departure from the cast in recent months. Ashley will then be written out this fall unless a recast is coming. In either regard, it feels like Jack is watching and waiting.
Jack’s paternity issue has been shelved for a later climax. That coming drama could also easily dovetail with Billy’s ouster and Jack’s return to Jabot’s big chair.
