The Young and the Restless (YR) Spoilers: Billy and Vickie Reconnect – Villy Again?

Billy (Jason Thompson) and Vickie (Amelia Heinle) didn’t express their love for each other in recent months on ‘The Young and the Restless’? He supposedly loved Phyllis (Gina Tognoni) and Vickie was immersed in her career. But ‘Philly’s’ hard end has now revived the real possibility that ‘Villy’ will be seen again.

Anything the even implies that Billy and Vickie could get back together is worth serious consideration. Their various marriages and ongoing link to two children has enabled a deeply personal connection to be maintained, even when both characters were committed to other people, or even to just themselves.

‘Villy’ has long acknowledged that they are each other’s true loves, soul mates, or whatever other unprovable term one wants to apply to the obvious romantic connection Vickie and Billy have. They’ve long found each other to be physically attractive, fell in love, and are an existing family.

Billy has begun acknowledging that he’s done with Phyllis and needs a shoulder to lean on. Vickie is in the midst of yet another personal drama and can’t blame this one on Billy. Whenever and however the unavoidable resolution to the J.T. (Thad Luckinbill) matter happens, Vickie’s need for someone to count on will follow, or possibly develop as that climax happens.

Say whatever one wants about Billy, he’s often been there for Vickie when she’s needed him most. Yes, he can be unreliable. But this particular woman, more than any other, owns a piece of his ever-vulnerable heart.

As for Vickie, her truest feelings for Billy were, arguably, most clearly expressed via her adoption of ‘Chilly’s’ child, Johnny (Ryan and Holden Hare). That little boy is a positive reflection of his father and that’s a key reason why Vickie wanted to take care of him. As for Chelsea (Melissa Claire Egan) so easily having abandoned her own child, well, that’s a plot point to address in another digital column.

It stands to reason that Billy will be spending more time with the kids in what once was ‘Villy’s’ house setting. That and the slow drift to the holiday season, especially including Christmas, will create the potential for this famous couple to be written together again.
