The Young and the Restless (YR) Spoilers: Billy and Sharon Potential Couple Option

They’ve briefly been together before on ‘The Young and the Restless’, but that was when Billy Abbott looked like Billy Miller. Jason Thompson’s (Billy) current edition of this legacy character is now being written into Sharon’s (Sharon Case) plot path. And with that comes the potential for ‘Shilly’.

There are many words, or phrases that come to mind when considering the above pairing as a real couple. Intriguing, disaster, impassioned, doomed, fresh, a soapy Titanic, or a mix of all words mentioned without those that would be censored for the daytime audience.

At present these characters have a mutual distrust of their most recent significant others in common. As Y&R viewers recall, Sharon learned about ‘Phick’, decided to keep her feelings bottled, sans wine, and then purged to the modest crowd within the church setting. Billy proposed to Phyllis (Gina Tognoni) during ‘Shick’s’ ceremony.

Billy’s joy in having Phyllis’ verbal agree to his proposal lasted as long as the settlement agreement on a condo moments before the potential owner receives a mega-storm warning alert about the exact location of the desired beach-front property. Yes, buyer’s remorse can be described in creative ways.

Sharon was fully hesitant about Nick (Joshua Morrow), as they’d wronged each other so many times in Genoa City. But she never expected him to cavort with Phyllis, whose appearance and demeanor seemed to soften in the Tognoni years.

So, Sharon and Billy can commiserate about Nick and Phyllis acting on their revealed, latent attraction to each other. Since Case and Thompson’s characters are single and have previously demonstrated that they too find the other to be appealing, there is no reason to disregard the potential for an actual ‘Shilly’ coupling.

Along with the above, it has become reasonable to believe that Sharon and Billy might just get together to smite Nick and Phyllis. After that ruse, their connection would be established and nature could take its course. The actual realization of this duo, if written well, would deliver appeal and controversy for the audience as well.
