The Young and the Restless (YR) Spoilers: Ashley Wronged By Brother – Jack Runs Away

Ashley (Eileen Davidson) has been wronged by her duplicitous brother on ‘The Young and the Restless’. Meanwhile, Jack (Peter Bergman) just framed his sister and ran away from home.

The idea that Jack would be so insecure that he would conspire with Victoria (Amelia Heinle) to make his own sister appear to be a Jabot spy is outrageous. So, seeing him run off to Europe after Ashley told him that she knew what he’d done didn’t come as a surprise to seasoned Y&R viewers.

Objective daytime observers could reasonably argue both sides of various Jabot business matters, as they related to Jack’s reign as Chief Operating Officer and Ashley’s belief that she had earned her right to that chair.

Some questioned Ashley’s tactics in having called for a Jabot confidence vote in the recent past. Jack lost that poll, with his now recast son, Kyle (Michael Mealor) casting the deciding mark against him.

However, reasonable souls understood when Ashley opted to leave the company her non-biological father founded. She didn’t anticipate that Victor (Eric Braeden) would pounce upon her unemployed status. But when the ‘Moustache’ did, Ashley accepted.

Vickie hated Ashley’s hire, as did Jack. So Miss Newman and Mr. Abbott hatched a plan that made it look like Ashley provided Newman Enterprises’ information to Jack. She hadn’t done that, but Victor initially believed the ruse.

Ashley’s current (though potentially not lasting termination) caused Jack to literally flee the country. He claimed that a European subsidiary urgently needed his attention. That was a boldface lie.

Per his usual poker face, Jack looked straight into Ashley’s eyes and claimed zero responsibility in destroying her nascent Newman career. His sister knew his words meant nothing and that she would now need to prove what he’d done.

Basically, Jack’s efforts blackballed his sister. His belief is that, over time, she’ll return to Jabot, remain under his thumb and be grateful.

Ashley is now more determined than ever to forge her own path. She’s aiming for Jack’s jugular, Vickie’s heart and, depending upon his actions, Victor’s company as well. Oh Jackie-boy!
