The Young and the Restless (YR) Spoilers: Ashley Turning Tide – Vickie Crumbling

Ashley (Eileen Davidson) knows how to handle herself on ‘The Young and the Restless’, which is why Victor (Eric Braeden) invented a title (Chief Innovation Officer) for his ex-wife in order to hire her. Vickie (Amelia Heinle) is insecure, which J.T. (Thad Luckinbill) accurately assessed. Those contrasting factors are why Miss Newman is crumbling, while the former Mrs. Newman turns the corporate tide.

Back-biting exists in various workplaces. Skilled employees don’t always fend off the phony ferrets, but when they do power is retained or, in this situation, gained.

Vickie Unhappy With Ashley

Vickie didn’t like the fact that her dad brought Ashley onto their family’s turf. Giving Newman’s Chief Operating Officer her quarter, the new CIO did acknowledge that she was aiming for Victor’s seat whenever the old man was gone. So Vickie’s defensive posture isn’t being questioned, instead her use of tactics are.

Vickie’s Plan Backfires

As J.T., Lily (Christel Khalil) and others have said, Vickie comes across as a cold, controlling ogre. She made an honest attempt to be more open, by initiating a listening session for employees. But Ashley and Lily’s expressed opinions botched what Vickie believed was a proactive attempt to bond with those who work under her and that perception is the issue.

Vicky Feels Entitled

Vickie feels that she’s entitled to Victor’s throne because her father spoiled her and then, while she’s been an adult, in using her own free will, she developed a complete sense of entitlement. Newman underlings feel that.

Ashley Ploys Against Vickie

As for Ashley, she’s going to make Vickie’s foolish attempt to frame her into a strength. Victor will demand that his currently favored child reestablishes trust if he continues to employ her moving forward.

Victor Questions Evidence

Victor would have likely fired any other outsider the moment Vickie delivered the supposed goods to him. But the evidence was just a bit too perfect and it was gained oh so quickly as well.

Vickie Fears Truth

The fact that Victor wants to obtain further information about Ashley’s claimed espionage is making Vickie fret, as she should. When the truth is revealed, the existing structure at Newman will shift. This change doesn’t project well for Victor’s first-born.
