Eileen Davidson (Ashley) recently announced that she’s departing the cast of ‘The Young and the Restless’. Her final scenes won’t be seen until the fall, which allows plenty of time for a relationship to be formed with Neil (Kristoff St. John).
Neil and Ashley have been romantically involved in the past. Devoted viewers recall their most recent pairing occurred during the Tucker McCall (Stephen Nichols) era.
Neither character is involved with anyone currently. Neil’s most recent meaningful relationship was with Gwen (Nadine Nicole), who followed the Hilary (Mishael Morgan) debacle.

Ashley was linked to two well-liked characters in recent years, Simon (Michael E. Knight) and Ravi (Abhi Sinha). She’s been focused on her career this year, moving from Jabot, to, surprisingly, Newman Enterprises, and then back to Jabot last week.
Y&R has time to craft a mini-arc involving the returned couple ‘Nashley’. These veteran daytime actors, who portray two Genoa City fixtures could have a late-summer, early-fall adventure that caps with Ashley’s departure.
It could be possible that the Ashley character will also be recast, as has been done before. Hardcore viewers recall that while Davidson initially filled this role, other versions of Ashley have been played by Brenda Epperson (1988-95) and Shari Shattuck (1996-99). McKayla Dunne portrayed a very young Ashley in Dina (Marla Adams) related flashbacks last year.
Ashley’s bounce back to Jabot doesn’t appear directly related to Davidson’s coming write-out. Newman Enterprises potential collapse seems to be linked to one of its top (and most recently hired) executives jumping ship.

Though Ashley told Victor (Eric Braeden) she was quitting because he wasn’t straight with her about the J.T. (Thad Luckinbill) matter.
Ashley surely could use an affirming influence in her life. Neil’s presence would seem right at this point in time.
Neil is co-heading the Hamilton Winters Group with Devon (Bryton James). All is flowing well with their family company.
At home, in his newly purchase penthouse, Mr. Winters has welcomed his just-returned, recast, and slightly SORAS’d nephew Nate (Brooks Darnell). So, with business and personal matters balanced, Neil appears primed to explore romance with Ashley.
