The Young and the Restless (YR) Spoilers: Abby Fights For Her Man – Sharon is Second Best

Abby (Melissa Ordway) can have almost any man that she wants on ‘The Young and the Restless’. Scott (Daniel Hall) is loved by Sharon (Sharon Case). But his feelings were slowly shifting to Abby as 2017 played out. Now that 2018 has arrived, Abby has decided to fight for her man.

Yes, the former Mrs. ‘Stitch’ (Sean Carrigan) has given into her feelings. It took a handful of weeks after the storage unit incident for emotions to settle. But once they did, Abby knew that she wanted Scott. That meant Sharon couldn’t have him, even though he just agreed to move into the Cottage.

Carrigan’s character, Dr. Ben Rayburn, appeared to be a good match for Abby in the recent past. He represented the first serious relationship that she pursued, whereas all other romantic connections were short, kooky or just plain ill-considered. But then Y&R wrote them apart.

Abby’s sudden realization that she never loved Ben and therefore ‘Stabby’s’ marriage should end, represented an implausible plot point. While Carrigan’s face still appears on the cast list, he hasn’t been seen for a long time. Possibly Ben will be written back into Genoa City in 2018?

In the meantime, Ordway’s character will be temporarily written out this month. She delivered her baby in early December and went out on maternity leave. That great news surely helped Ordway, her husband and now, two children enjoy a wonderful Christmas and New Year’s.

We’ve left Sharon’s name for the end of this feature for a reason. Scott considers her to be second best.

Knowing Sharon, as all hardcore Y&R fans do, it’s anticipated that she will follow up on the fight with Abby in the GC Athletic Club by moving forward aggressively.

How Y&R chooses to handle Abby’s imminent departure will soon be known. Scott seems hardly likely to repair matters with Sharon anytime in the near future, which means that the start of ‘Scabby’ as a true couple will be put on hold while ‘Shott’ is left in tatters.
