Young & The Restless

The Young and the Restless (YR) Spoilers: Abby and Victoria Sever Ties – Newman Battle On

Abby (Melissa Ordway) relished seeing Vickie (Amelia Heinle) go down on ‘The Young and the Restless’. A quick look through Jack’s (Peter Bergman) living room desk drawer unearthed the needed evidence to expose Victoria’s duplicity. And with that a new Newman battle was on.

Okay, the idea that Jack and Vickie would act in such an amateurish manner is a bit of a stretch. But to think that the head of Jabot would leave his phone records and other paperwork in an unsecured area forced viewers to greatly suspend their disbelief.

Digesting the lead-in to this breakup, Y&R now sees Abby in her father’s good graces. As for Vickie, well, she was thrown under the luxury vehicle.

Ashley’s (Eileen Davidson) arrival at Newman came after Victor (Eric Braeden) and Nikki (Melody Thomas Scott), yes Nikki, wooed her. Miss Abbott’s initial stay at the company where Vickie and Abby work was brief, meaning weeks.

Vickie was none too pleased to see that Victor hired Ashley and specifically pitted his ex-wife and the mother of his second-born daughter against her. Instant insecurity found Jack’s devious mind. Together they plotted Ashley’s ouster that has now gone awry.

The verbal blowout that was seen at Crimson Lights means that the strained relationship Vickie and Abby had is now severed. Abby has rightfully felt undermined and needlessly cajoled by her half-sister. Yes, technicalities matter to people who sport broad egos the size Wisconsin.

Sister against sister reminds seasoned viewers of Nick’s (Joshua Morrow) interactions with Adam (most recently played by Justin Hartley). What a family the Newman’s are.

At this point there’s nothing Vickie can say to assuage Victor’s feelings. He was betrayed by the very person he believed was his successor. Now Ashley’s recent bravado, about being suited for Victor’s throne, moves closer to reality.

Ashley’s return to Newman appears imminent, as long as Victoria is fired. Whether that only implies her removal as the company’s Chief Operating Officer, or more will play out this week.
