The Young and the Restless (YR) RUMOR: Marco Wasn’t Jack’s Doppelganger – Dina’s Twin Son Revealed

Yes, it’s a soapy stretch on ‘The Young and the Restless’. But if Dina’s (Marla Adams) current recollections about Phillip (Donnelly Rhodes) prove true, then Marco Anaselli (also played by Peter Bergman) could be Jack’s (Bergman, of course) blood brother instead of his doppelganger as had been assumed!

Okay, let’s sift through facts and possibilities. Dina first revealed to Abby (Melissa Ordway) that Jack’s father wasn’t John (Jerry Douglas). That stunning admission eventually led to Jack learning the supposed truth and now, pursuing his true paternity.

So, Bergman’s initial character used a key Dina had saved to open a safety deposit box. That security item was conveniently stored in a Genoa City bank, instead of in Paris, France, where Madame Mergeron used to hold court.

Jack and Kyle (Michael Mealor) found what appeared to be an old school three by five, black and white snapshot. Tenured Y&R fans wondered if the photograph was taken with a Kodak, Polaroid, or other named camera and what never seen character used to own a drug store where the roll of film would have been developed within a few days?

Dina’s Alzheimer’s condition injects doubt to whatever she says, but doesn’t serve to fully discount her memories. Sometimes, they are just a bit off.

Why couldn’t Dina have had two sons through Phillip, one of whom (Marco) was then given up for adoption, or taken at birth without her knowledge? Yes, it’s possible that Dina had twins through Mr. Chancellor.

Another possibility would have seen Dina give birth to Jack and the boy who became Marco through John. But if that’s true, then the DNA test that confirmed a half-sibling match with Traci (Beth Maitland) would mean that she isn’t John’s daughter. Jack’s non-sibling match with Billy (Jason Thompson), which was confirmed through a separate DNA test, would mean that Thompson’s character isn’t John’s son.

Two boys (Jack and Marco) born though different fathers wouldn’t look identical, even in Y&R’s world. So the likelihood that Dina had Jack through John, or Phillip and the boy who became Marco through the other seems too extreme to believe.

Considering the reaction of a certain segment of Y&R’s audience to the doppelganger story Bergman was part in 2015, possibly this is supervising producer Lisa de Cazotte’s and executive producer and head writer Mal Young’s attempt to revise storyline history?

Any previously provided facts about one-eared Marco can be changed. If this rumor proves to be fact, it would certainly become an epic reveal and make a major impact.
