The Young and the Restless (YR) RUMOR: Dina Not Jack’s Mother – Abbott Link Restored

Jack (Peter Bergman) didn’t think to test his DNA against Dina’s (Marla Adams) on ‘The Young and the Restless’. What if that happens and no genetic match is determined? Well, then ‘Jackie’ could remain an Abbott, assuming that he wasn’t adopted and John (Jerry Douglas) was his father all along.

Yes, instead of Jack not being biologically linked to John, he’s actually not Dina’s child. That would be quite the soapy storyline twist.

Bergman’s character believes he has two forms of scientific proof. While it’s true that separate DNA tests were conducted, neither actually confirms that John wasn’t Jack’s father.

As viewers recall, Abby (Melissa Ordway) conducted a series of interviews with Dina to preserve her supposed empowering life. Along the way Dina stunningly divulged that Jack wasn’t John’s son. Ashley (Eileen Davidson) was told what happened and had a test conducted via a friend to rule out integrity questions. The comparison of Jack’s sample to his perceived sister Traci’s (Beth Maitland) resulted in a half-sibling relationship being confirmed. Everyone assumed that Dina was the link to both people, but was that true?

Abby’s interviews were turned into a documentary-style movie by an earnest Charlie Ashby (Noah Alexander Gerry). It appears as though Kyle (Michael Mealor), or Victor (Eric Braeden) then had the taboo footage inserted into the film, which forced out Jack’s paternity reveal.

Jack blocked reality for about a day and then had his own test conducted. Having learned about the Traci-comparison, Jack opted to have his sample tested against Billy’s (Jason Thompson) with an expected half-sibling match. But no, Jack didn’t even realize that, which could mean Jill (Jess Walton) had Billy through someone other than John thereby also keeping the Abbott connection in order.

If, as fans expect, Jack will be proven an Abbott at the end of this storyline, then something big still has to be revealed. One way for Jack to be John’s son is if he’s confirmed as having a different mother. That plot path would seemingly fit with what’s been confirmed through the other tests to-date. Along with this logic is the potential for Dina to not be Jack’s mom.
