The Young and the Restless (YR) RECAP Monday, July 23: Kyle Knows Phyllis and Nick’s Secret

“The Young and the Restless” (YR) recap for Monday, July 23, 2018 reveals that over at Sharon McAvoy’s (Sharon Case) place, Mariah Copeland (Camryn Grimes) wants to know if Nick Newman (Joshua Morrow) is getting them pancakes. Sharon points out he never came home.

They talk about Sharon taking off her ring and Mariah thinks she needs to make amends. Mariah gets a text from Tessa Porter (Cait Fairbanks) then fills in Sharon that the two of them were having a great date until Tessa met up with another woman. Mariah then starts to wonder why she hasn’t heard from Hilary Curtis (Mishael Morgan).

Kyle Hears That Billy and Phyllis Are Over

Over at Jabot, Kyle Abbott (Michael Mealor) watches as Gloria Bardwell (Judith Chapman) gives Billy Abbott (Jason Thompson) a hard time about him and Phyllis Summers (Gina Tognoni). He tells her that they will be back on track in no time.

Kyle Realizes Nick & Phyllis Slept Together

In the apartment, Phyllis Summers and Nick Newman wake up in bed. Nick looks over at his ex-wife and she says that happened. In the kitchen, they chat. Phyllis calls Summer Newman (Hunter King) and is relieved she is not coming home. They decide to keep what happened between the two of them. Nick goes upstairs to shower. Kyle Abbott arrives and is concerned that Phyllis was going to miss their meeting.

She pretends she is sick. Kyle sees Nick pants on the floor and Phyllis lies and says they are Billy Abbott’s and that he is in the shower. Kyle doesn’t fall for it. He points out he was just with Billy. Phyllis ends up admitting she had a one time thing and warns Kyle if he doesn’t want to hurt his uncle then he’ll stay quiet. After he is gone, Nick and Phyllis agree that they get one another and then agree no one will ever hear about last night.

Devon Tells Hilary Nate Saved Her

In Hilary Curtis’ hospital room, she sobs to Devon Hamilton (Bryton James) that she is sorry. He assures her it wasn’t her fault. Hilary feels she should never have been in the car. Devon says the only thing that matters is that she is alive. Talk turns to their baby. Devon admits he had started to pick out names. Nate Hastings (Brooks Darnell) appears and Hilary wonders if he is there to taunt her recovery.

Nate says a sense of humor is a good sign. Devon explains he saved her life. Suddenly Nate seems as if something is wrong, but covers it up when Devon questions him on it. Hilary has another transfusion then she and Devon talk about the show. Hilary tells Devon to let Mariah Copeland do it and knows she will do great.

Phyllis Wants Billy Home and In Gamblers Annonymous

Back over at Jabot, Gloria Bardwell wants to know if Kyle Abbott found Phyllis Summers. He replies, he definitely did. Gloria then asks about some expense discrepancies, and when she goes to Billy Abbott about the problem he snaps at her. Phyllis comes in and Kyle mocks her recovery. Phyllis and Billy chat and agree theyes are both screw ups. She asks him to come home and they kiss. She brings up that she seen him at a poker game again and wants him to go to gambler’s anonymous. Billy gets angry and then says he’ll have to have time to decide if he is coming home.

Sharon Puts Nick’s Ring Back On Her Finger

Nick Newman arrives home. Sharon asks him about not coming home. Nick says he got the message when he saw her ring. Sharon wasn’t ending things. Nick apologizes for scaring her and Sharon let’s him put the ring back on her finger.

Devon Breaks the News About Hilary

At the Dive Bar, Tessa Porter and Mariah Copeland chat about not getting an answer from both Devon Hamilton and Hilary Curtis on their cells. A few minutes later, Devon calls Mariah and breaks the news about Hilary and the baby. Mariah breaks down into tears. Mariah goes on air and shares the difficult news.

Nate Does Not Think Hilary Will Make It

Back over at the hospital, Nate Hastings gets a text that Hilary Curtis’ test results are in. In Hilary’s room, she and Devon watch as Mariah Copeland fights the tears and praises Hilary on The Hilary Hour. After, Devon tells Hilary she needs rest. Nate appears in the doorway and Devon goes and joins him. Devon learns that Hilary is still experiencing massive bleeding and Nate doesn’t think she is going to make it.
