The Young and the Restless (YR) Poll: Would Sharon Be Better Off Alone in 2018 Or With Nick?

The Young and the Restless (YR) Poll: Would Sharon Be Better Off Alone in 2018 Or With Nick?Sharon (Sharon Case) is having relationship issues again on ‘The Young and the Restless’. At this point in her life, would she be better off alone for awhile?

All honest Sharon fans must acknowledge that random chance, known as luck, has little to do with the roller coaster romance rides Case’s character has taken through the years. Sharon has made choices, which created consequences. Sometimes she’s been wrong and other times she’s been wronged. So luck wasn’t and isn’t the issue.

Sharon wasn’t looking for love after Dylan (Steve Burton) left town. Her marriage to Mr. McAvoy ended amicably, even though she lied to him about having his child. Yes, Sully was really Christian (Jude and Ozzy McGuigen) all along.

Scott (Daniel Hall) arrived in town and seemed to become a solid match for Sharon earlier this year. He had potential. Scott was never married, had no children and possessed a personal resume that was inspiring, rather than unstable. His connection with Sharon grew naturally, which added to the impression that ‘Shott’ would work. But it hasn’t.

There are too many men to mention in Sharon’s backstory for the purpose of this feature. Restating what was noted above, it’s fair to say that in each instance, one person, the other or both were the problem.

Considering the strength that Sharon exhibited shortly after ‘Shylan’ ended, it’s reasonable to believe that she can survive ‘Shott’s’ looming end without falling apart. Yes, Sharon’s shock will be seen and some time will be needed for rebalance. Many people handle breakups similarly.

It’s wrong to male bash. That form of sexism is identical to when all females are lumped together and painted with bias brush strokes that appear (or actually) reflect elements of the detractor’s personal lives. People who honestly want a just society don’t divide people into groups and then attack them based on stereotypes.

So, it’s not that Sharon should never seek love again. Urging her to do that would imply that advice givers are experts on her life, or on life in general.

The question is, would it be better if Sharon chose to remain alone for awhile? Doing so would give her time to heal, invest in herself, care for her children and avoid the potential of a rebound romance, which is what ‘Shott’ may have been.
