‘The Young and the Restless’ (YR) Poll: Will Devon’s Change of Heart Create Hevon Revival?

Devon’s (Bryton James) change of heart reignites his chances of reuniting with Hilary (Mishael Morgan) on ‘The Young and the Restless’. Baby? Yes. ‘Hevon’ again? Maybe.

If one couple could be given the Genoa City award for the most back-and-forth interactions, it would be this one. All who voted for ‘Niktor’ made good arguments, but ‘Hevon’ beat Nikki (Melody Thomas Scott) and Victor (Eric Braeden) by a hair. This article is about the younger couple as well, so that may have swayed the outcome.

Hilary was honest with Devon after he learned what her doctor’s appointment was actually about. She was crushed to have merely had a chemical pregnancy, confirmed after her home test proved positive. Knowing that Devon said he was done with her if current efforts didn’t work, the hoped-for mother forged ahead.

The idea to use science to realize this infinitely worthy goal came via a discussion with Hilary’s written best friend, Phyllis (Gina Tognoni). They were chatting at Crimson Lights when the conversation turned to available stored items. Hilary then proceeded on her own.

While Devon was initially bothered by what Hilary planned to do, he quickly came to understand why she acted as she did. He still wants to be a father and feels that Morgan’s character is the best possible woman to pair with.

Y&R fans can’t instantly jump to remarriage based upon this duo’s history. That might happen and it might not. But Devon has been more open than he has been in a long time to Hilary. His acceptance of the plan Hilary is pursuing alone furthers ‘Hevon’s’ story comeback potential. But then there is Simone (Shanica Knowles).

Hilary and Devon discussed Simone’s likely exit once she’s told that a baby is truly in the picture, which assumes the projected new life will be confirmed soon. However, LP Streaming’s newest recording artist could stay in the picture. Ongoing drama would exist if she does. Plus, the path to ‘Hevon’ Part II would become a question viewers would want answered, rather than simply watching a slam dunk redo.
