The Young and the Restless (YR) Poll: Will Ashley and Victor Reunite? VOTE!

This poll question leads with business on ‘The Young and the Restless’. But it’s true meaning veers romantic. Will Ashley (Eileen Davidson) and Victor (Eric Braeden) reunite romantically, whether or not their Newman Enterprises partnership can be repaired?

Ashley is right to be steamed. She wasn’t looking to work for Victor until he made her a terrific offer that included a seat on the Board of Directors, which went along with her newly created position as Chief Innovation Officer. That was a coup for Newman, a blow to Victoria (Amelia Heinle) and an irreplaceable loss for Jack (Peter Bergman) at Jabot.

Shortly after arriving, she sealed a great deal with a company that Vickie hadn’t been able to secure over the course of past years. That validated Ashley’s hire ten-fold. Victor thought his instincts to bring his ex-wife aboard were therefore vindicated.

Vickie and Jack feared that Ashley would take both of them down. Vickie felt a unique threat and a rival for her dad’s spot had been allowed into her family company. Jack believed that Ashley would use her talent and revenge energy to eventually damage, or sink his family’s company. Together they devised a cowardly plot that framed Ashley for corporate espionage.

Victor bit the bait and fired Ashley. She’s since threatened legal action against Newman. But Abby (Melissa Ordway) has subsequently proven that Vickie was the saboteur. This doesn’t mean Ashley instantly returns, but it’s possible.

Seasoned viewers see the long game. Vickie could easily be ousted. Ashley could return to her spot as CIO, while also assuming all of Miss Newman’s former responsibilities. At that point a ‘Vashley’ reunion becomes possible.

Nikki’s (Melody Thomas Scott) dalliance with Arturo (Jason Canela) and her preemptive signal to Ashley to commingle with Victor, if she wanted to, represented dialogue foreshadowing. Now, the future is about to arrive.
