Ashley purposely used and is still using her own mother’s Alzheimer’s condition in order to justify falsely stripping Jack of his paternity. What type of a person does that? A self-centered one who despises Dina (Marla Adams) for having cavorted with Brent Davis (Bert Kramer). Yet, there’s more.
It’s not just that Ashley harbors a great grudge against Dina, she also resents her half-brother. And yes, half is how Davidson’s vindictive character feels about the man who always looked out for her before they became adults.
The time transition above points to adulthood. That is when ‘Jackie-boy’ became entitled, at least in Ashley’s mind.
There is no denying that Jack’s flaunt with Jill (Jess Walton) revealed something about his morality, or lack thereof. He also recklessly took Jabot public, which Ashley forcefully recanted this week. That business decision caused John (Jerry Douglas) to have a heart attack.

Colleen (as last played by Tammin Sursok) was killed by Patty (Stacy Haiduk) because she’d previously been driven mad (according to Ashley) by Jack. He cavorted on his wedding day, which is said to have eventually led to the referenced tragedy.
It would be wrong to assume that Ashley has been cited as believing certain things about Jack and therefore that opinion is hers alone. No, Kyle (Michael Mealor), Jack’s own son, voluntarily formed an alliance with Victor (Eric Braeden), his father’s mortal enemy, due to his own perceived injustices. That makes three close contacts (Ashley, Patty, and Kyle), among others who could be mentioned, who came to share a similar downward view of Jack.
Davidson’s final scenes will be seen at the end of this month, which is a great loss for the show and its viewers. She and Bergman will no longer get to play off the other unless Davidson returns some day. So, with whoever is worse, Ashley, or Jack, it must be said that both actor’s collaborative efforts have been outstanding.
