The Young and the Restless (YR) Poll: Who Is Threatening Newman Enterprises?

Someone is anonymously threatening Newman Enterprises on ‘The Young and the Restless’. But who is the mysterious masked voice that’s contacted Vickie (Amelia Heinle) and seemingly accessed J.T.’s (Thad Luckinbill) confidential information?

Mackenzie (Kelly Kruger) returned to town this week. She’s a prime suspect as the mother of two of J.T.’s children.

There isn’t enough evidence yet to determine how ‘Mac’ would have learned about J.T.’s death and then would be exacting this bizarre revenge plan. But Kruger’s character is a plausible option.

Of course, this is soapland. So, it’s easy to suggest that J.T. might still be alive, somehow.

The idea that any normal human being could survive the head-bash and unceremonious burial in Chancellor Park is far-fetched. But suspended animation could be written into the equation unless J.T. has an evil twin.

Adam (as most recently played by Justin Hartley) will remain a likely suspect in any open-ended storyline where a past character can return. He knew (or knows) Newman, and would have the technical skills to pull of what’s happening.

But why would Adam hold this type of grudge when he was leaving town on good terms with Victor (Eric Braeden)? That’s the flaw in this theory, though anything can be invented if Y&R’s writing staff is so motivated.

Ashley (Eileen Davidson) asked Jack (Peter Bergman) if he was behind the attack. Considering that she didn’t see his other-side-of-the-cell-phone reaction, which seemed genuine, it might not be him. But what about Jack’s son?

Kyle (Michael Mealor) has already proven capable of duplicity. He’s come to claim regret for siding with Victor against his father, while also believing that the ‘Black Knight’ is responsible for revealing Jack’s paternity secret at the movie house in the spring.

Victor also didn’t follow through with the executive job offer that Kyle was promised. All factors afford Kyle enough motivation to be the mysterious voice. Though there are various other character possibilities as well.
