The Young and the Restless (YR) Poll: Who Is The Worst Current Genoa City Resident?

Viewers have various Genoa City resident options on ‘The Young and the Restless’. In order to make this poll more intriguing, let’s leave Victor (Eric Braeden) out of the running. He’s the easy choice, as hardcore and newer viewers know.

How about a surprise pick first, Ashley (Eileen Davidson)? Sure, she’s an accomplished person and remains glamorous. But Miss Davis doesn’t even use her real last name, as Brent Davis (Bert Kramer) knows in the otherworld.

In recent months, Ashley learned that Jack (Peter Bergman) might not be an Abbott either. Instead of telling him what she and Abby (Melissa Ordway) learned, Ashley had a clandestine DNA test conducted and didn’t initially tell her apparent non-brother what was learned.

Ashley recently left Jabot and went to its despised opponent, Newman Enterprises. After warring with Vickie (Amelia Heinle) for weeks, Ashley gave Victor same-day notice and went back to the company John Abbott (Jerry Douglas) founded, where she’s since been trying to oust Billy (Jason Thompson) from the job she encouraged him to take. She’s currently looking the other way while Kyle (Michael Mealor) set a poker trap for the known gambling addict.

Meanwhile, Ashley’s also started a relationship with Neil (Kristoff St. John). But will soon leave Genoa City, thereby likely abandoning Mr. Winters.

Devon (Bryton James) did tell the sentencing judge that he didn’t want his family to suffer any further. But that followed his open-lambast of Lily (Christel Khalil) in court. Devon followed his turnaround by telling his sister that he still doesn’t forgive her before later visiting her in jail. Sure he’s grieving, but those are some strong mixed signals.

Tessa (Cait Fairbanks) put her own life at risk in order to help Crystal (Morgan Obenreder). That meant nothing to Devon, who is still holding a grudge about Mariah’s (Camryn Grimes) words being lifted for use in a track he produced. So, he rejected Tessa’s plea for a twenty-thousand dollar loan to pay off coyotes she supposedly owed.

Tessa also didn’t keep Mariah updated on what was happening in Canada as that situation played out. Rereading the last sentence and the above paragraph, one could choose to add Tessa to the list of worst GC residents if so desired.

Kyle was previously referenced regarding his uncle’s setup. But viewers haven’t forgotten that Mealor’s diabolical character lobbied Victor to help him bring down Jack earlier this year. Yes, Kyle since gave up that effort. But he shifted bad intentions, rather than ending them in targeting Billy.

Jack was surprised when Kyle refused to leave Jabot with him. Kyle is mired in the modern thought process of believing that he’s entitled to run the show even though he hasn’t earned the privilege.

The above matter bleeds into Kyle’s dysfunctional link to Summer (Hunter King) and their amoral Billy-bet. The younger Abbott, or whatever his last name really is, won the contest which may revive the unlikeable couple known as ‘Syle’.

Summer’s summer exploits have been legendary and don’t deserve to be repeated within this space. Though surely King’s character belongs on this list as well. And of course other fictional personalities could vie for GC’s low title as well.
