The Young and the Restless (YR) Poll: Which Rehire Would Be More Dramatic – Michael Muhney’s or Victoria Rowell’s?

It was just announced that Mishael Morgan (Hilary) is leaving the cast of ‘The Young and the Restless’. If her role isn’t filled another character seems likely to be written in, or back to the show. Regarding potential returnees, which rehire would be more dramatic, Michael Muhney’s (Adam), or Victoria Rowell’s (Drucilla)?

Muhney’s recent social media comments, “Fantastic things coming. Patience. Enjoy the ride.”, appear to imply that career developments are taking shape and that his fans will appreciate what they may be. This could mean that he’s been rehired to play Adam again, which would electrify scores within the audience and surely draw (and potentially retain) significant interest among soap followers.

The long-rumored potential return of this specific actor has remained viable because Y&R interviewed him as part of what became an Adam recast in 2014, after having non-renewed his contract in December 2013.

The fact that the show did that upended conjecture that he’d been released for a reason(s) that would have been tied to reemployment ineligibility. He appeared as Adam on the show from 2009 until January 2014.

However, devoted Y&R fans know that Dru’s name has been referenced twice in recent weeks. That was unusual, as the character Rowell made famous during her memorable and beloved run on the soap between 1990-2007 has rarely been referenced in passing, let alone mentioned by her actual name.

Legal dealings involving Y&R and Rowell are no longer current, so it could be possible that a rapprochement has developed between this soap and the actor.

Her return would be more historically significant than Muhney’s, based upon the length of time Rowell was part of the cast and has been gone. But surely the return of one actor or the other would be sensational in either regard.
