The Young and the Restless (YR) Poll: Which Current Genoa City Couples Will Endure?

There are many past, or potentially future couples on ‘The Young and the Restless’. But of those pairings that currently exist, either through matrimony or merely through romantic commitment, which will likely endure for awhile?

Let’s establish some parameters. Enduing for awhile on a soap opera means that these pairings will survive at least until New Year’s Day 2019.

‘Shick’ just got back together. It’s actually taken over a decade for Sharon (Sharon Case) and Nick (Joshua Morrow) to get back together, even though they had reunited and were ready to be married in 2014. Phyllis (Gina Tognoni) blocked that hoped-for union with her coma revival, trek back to Genoa City, and subsequent Summer (Hunter King) paternity reveal.

Because Phyllis’ name was referenced, so too can ‘Philly’ be inserted here. Tognoni’s character and Billy (Jason Thompson) at least split the audience when they first formed, but time seems to have allowed them to grow on a contingent of viewers.

‘Hevon’ also just reunited. Hilary (Mishael Morgan) and Devon (Bryton James) agreed to an amicable divorce in early 2017. Then they dated other people. Devon’s choice to reacquired GC Buzz clearly telegraphed these engaging duos slow-walk back to each other. They agreed to have a baby and are now happily pregnant.

‘Niktor’ is Y&R’s and one of this genre’s most famous couples. Nikki (Melody Thomas Scott) and Victor (Eric Braeden) split, but didn’t divorce, and then opted to live under the Ranch roof again. They tried a creative arrangement but eventually decided to exist in a traditional format. They are actually getting along fairly well, but can surely begin battling again at any moment based on past history.

‘Abturo’ is a newly formed pair. Yes, Abby (Melissa Ordway) and Arturo (Jason Canela) share a delightful nickname that leads with Abby’s name, reflects her comments about Arturo’s conditioning and ends with the second-half of his first name.
