The Young and the Restless (YR) Poll: Which Cover-up Crew Members Will Be Sentenced to Prison?

There are many questions that can be asked regarding the J.T. (Thad Luckinbill) centered mystery on ‘The Young and the Restless’. Tenured soap fans likely feel that one of them isn’t whether the acts Nikki (Melody Thomas Scott), Phyllis (Gina Tognoni), Vickie (Amelia Heinle), and Sharon (Sharon Case) took will eventually be exposed.

They will, it’s just a matter of time. So instead, one better question is which members of the cover-up crew will actually be sentenced to prison, assuming any, or all are arrested for J.T.’s unreported demise and unauthorized burial?

Let’s break down what happened and who’s at risk to whatever varying degrees. In so doing we must start with the three-time enforcer, Nicole Reed Newman.

Nikki states that she’s removed three people from the earth. The first two were acts of self-defense and the latest was the defense of Victoria. An ancient storyline, revealed in verbal retrospect, proffered that the then-Nicole Reed was compelled to protect herself from her father and thus he perished.

She also acted in self-defense against Diane Jenkins (as last played by Maura West), who died, at the beginning of this decade.

This spring, Nikki head-conked J.T. after he’d spun out of control and was threatening Vickie. Considering that she chose not to report her actions to Paul (Doug Davidson), Nikki surely is in the most trouble.

Phyllis took advantage of everyone’s shock by urging what became a cover-up. Her actual motivation involved the infamous hit and run where Michelle Stafford’s version of Phyllis ran down ‘Pristine’ (Paul and Christine, Lauralee Bell) and has never faced legal repercussions. Both characters eventually learned who was to blame, with Christine retaining the greatest grudge against Phyllis.

Considering Paul’s role as Genoa City’s Chief of Police and Christine’s elected position as District Attorney, Phyllis was rightfully scared about how her presence at the scene would be responded to. Yes, this unjailed criminal feared that she would be held accountable for her past crime through use of this additional illegal act.

Vickie was the targeted victim. One would think mercy would be offered by the legal system in this regard.

Sharon initially fought against Phyllis’ scheme and urged contact with the authorities until eventually relenting. While Sharon was involved that night, she didn’t hit J.T. or orchestrate the cover-up.

Fans of ‘The Young and the Restless’ rightfully express their opinions on a regular basis. So, which members of the cover-up crew, if any, will be sentenced to prison? Please vote in our poll below!
