The Young and the Restless (YR) Poll: Should Nick Tell Sharon About Phyllis?

Nick (Joshua Morrow) has convinced himself that Sharon (Sharon Case) deserves to know his secret on ‘The Young and the Restless’. He, like his presumed again-wife, wants to enter the next edition of ‘Shick’ with a clear conscience. But is it necessary to tell Sharon about Phyllis (Gina Tognoni) now, or ever?

This dilemma is vastly different than Sharon’s. She wants to purge her soul, which has been withholding information about J.T. Hellstrom’s (Thad Luckinbill) death.

However, Sharon didn’t head-conk J.T., Nikki (Melody Thomas Scott) did. Sharon didn’t orchestrate the needless coverup of what was an accidental crime. Phyllis led that effort.

Sharon, unlike Nick, didn’t make a choice to become involved in what happened to J.T. No, Luckinbill’s character sparked Nikki’s instinctive reaction. And then, Phyllis’ self-protective guile ramped into high gear because of what she once did to Paul (Doug Davidson) and Christine (Lauralee Bell) when Michelle Stafford portrayed this character.

Nick believes that Sharon will value his truthfulness. He thinks that eliciting memories of the greatest sorrow of Sharon’s life, the loss of Cassie (Camryn Grimes), which led to ‘Phick’s’ formation, won’t prove to overpower the recognized desire to be honest now.

‘New Nick’ openly acknowledges that he’s embraced some of his father’s qualities. But Nick told Jack (Peter Bergman) that he’s not following Victor’s (Eric Braeden) example when it comes to loved ones and family.

Phyllis is adamantly opposed to Nick’s intention. At the same time, she’s also telling Sharon to resist her impulse to tell Nick about J.T. While Tognoni is playing a much softer version of Phyllis than Stafford did, this iconic character is still centered in the middle of Sharon and Nick’s troubles.

Nick wants ‘Shick’s’ remarriage to be different than ‘Shick’s’ first marriage. Of course, that assumes it happens in October.
