The Young and the Restless (YR) Poll: Should Lily Take Cane Back?

The question isn’t will ‘Lane’ be restored on ‘The Young and the Restless’. This poll question asks if Lily (Christel Khalil) will take her husband back?

The query might seem almost moot, as many Y&R fans understandably believe that Cane (Daniel Goddard) has made major inroads in his quest to restore his family and that ‘Lane’s’ revival is inevitable. However, all is not certain in any soapy world.

Clearly, jetting to Paris, France, will come as a surprise. Almost anyone would be flattered by such a grand gesture, especially considering that ‘Lane’ was remarried at that geographic location in a memorably beautiful outdoor ceremony a handful of years ago.

Lily has rightfully been tentative about taking Cane back. Her trepidation actually isn’t centered on the messy drama that played out with Juliet (Laur Allen) and the baby, Sam, that she gave birth to.

As viewers recall, Mrs. Ashby offered extensive leeway to her husband in that regard. She was fully willing to remain married and to help Cane co-parent his then-to-be-born son. But a different issue arose, which served to damage trust.

Cane’s off-kilter 2017 took another odd turn when he impulsively sabotaged Billy’s (Jason Thompson) DARE commercial shoot. That resulted in Jesse (Max Adler) blackmailing Cane. Mr. Ashby then dipped into the SORAS’d twins school tuition fund and paid him off to the tune of twenty thousand dollars.

It was that reveal that set Lily off. But then Juliet died and matters of the heart shifted.

The issue at this point isn’t love, as this still-married couple cares deeply for each other. Surely, Charlie (Noah Alexander Gerry), Mattie (Lexie Stevenson) and Sam would be better off with two parents as well.

No, the outstanding issue was and remains trust. Will Lily be willing to allow Cane to prove that he’s regained his integrity and can maintain it?
