The Young and the Restless (YR) Poll: Is Shick Over? – Sharon and Nick’s Fate Appears Sealed

Sharon (Sharon Case) told Nick (Joshua Morrow) that they were done on ‘The Young and the Restless’. But Nick believes that they’ll still be married. So, is ‘Shick’ over?

This poll question obviously intends to elicit emotion regarding whether fans want this couple to marry, or if they don’t. Of course a lack of feeling about the storyline wouldn’t involve passion. Yet, neutral ideas about the outcome can still be offered as well.

It appeared as though Sharon and Nick would never get remarried four years ago this fall. They were standing at the altar in the traditional church setting that Y&R has often used. It’s one of many beautiful visuals, adorned with stained glass windows, statues, and other elements that honor open-minded views of reality.

Meanwhile, comatose Phyllis (who morphed from Michelle Stafford to Gina Tognoni in a major recast moment) awoke. She made her way to Genoa City, burst into the holy place and stopped ‘Shick’s’ ceremony by exposing the paternity information Sharon withheld about Summer (Hunter King).

This time around Summer’s public discussion of ‘Phick’s’ revival led to Sharon learning the truth via Mariah (Camryn Grimes). Phyllis became the bad apple who was thrown in Nick’s face, with Morrow’s character also being guilty.

The switch of positions and Phyllis’ particular involvement does seem to seal the fate of the once and maybe never again ‘Shick’. Sharon has settled her life and is currently strong. She also advised Nick that while he remains the love of her life, their repairing doesn’t make sense.

The head of Dark Horse went to work the day after the non-wedding. ‘New Nick’ looks, sounds, and feels more like Victor (Eric Braeden) every day. That could give fans of the embattled duo hope, as the ‘Moustache’ has often remarried his true love. But Case’s character isn’t Nikki (Melody Thomas Scott) and ‘Shick’ isn’t ‘Niktor’. So, no one really knows what will happen next.
