Melissa Claire Egan (Chelsea) recently announced that she’s leaving the cast on ‘The Young and the Restless’. So, how will her character be written out in the near future?
Current events indicate that the scam Chelsea’s pulled against Fenmore’s will result in legal trouble. An easy conclusion would have Paul (Doug Davidson) arrest her. Might she then escape, before, during or after a trial, or even if there are no court proceedings?

Okay, let’s consider more creative options. Chelsea recently said that Adam (most recently played by Justin Hartley) suggested that they have a so-called ‘back-up’ plan when he was alive. Assuming that his advice is still being adhered to, what if Egan’s character didn’t rip off Fenmore’s with the intent of leaving town?
The stash of cash Chelsea stuck in the penthouse vents may well have been her rainy day fund in case Nick (Joshua Morrow) left her, or unexpectedly died like his brother seemingly did. Thinly buried in Adam’s widow’s mind is the fact that Christian (Jude and Ozzy McGuigen) isn’t Nick’s child.
As viewers recall, Victor (Eric Braeden) threatened to reveal that fact if she didn’t do as he requested shortly before Christmas. Knowing that the ‘Moustache’ retains a blackmail option, Chelsea rightfully feels uneasy. Therefore the money she stole serves as protection.
Following this line of projected logic, Victor pulls the lever and Nick’s soul is crushed. Chelsea then uses her ill-gotten gains to flee Genoa City.
Phyllis’ (Gina Tognoni) efforts to tag Fenmore’s thief and Jordan’s (Darnell Kirkwood) return to town could push Chelsea to leave GC with Connor (Gunner and Ryder Gadbois. She would do that to avoid both prosecution and persecution.
