Young & The Restless

The Young and the Restless (YR) Daniel Hall Confirms Write-Out – Bye-Bye Scott Grainger

Scott (Daniel Hall) might not be gone forever on ‘The Young and the Restless’. Instead, this character might have been temporarily written out. Hall confirmed as much during a recent exchange on social media.

Y&R SORAS’d Scott Grainger, Junior last year. Hall’s embodiment of Lauren’s (Tracey Bregman) grown son turned writer resulted in various engaging daytime adventures. Eventually Scott positioned himself between two strong ladies, Sharon (Sharon Case) and Abby (Melissa Ordway). As the audience anticipated, he didn’t last with either.

Scott’s early days in Genoa City were filled with drama, as Victor (Eric Braeden) needed to pay a hefty ransom in order to free him and a colleague from the grip of deranged lunatics who live in a far off land and behave as though it’s one-thousand years ago. Scott’s safe return then enabled a job to be gained at Newman Enterprises, which put him in Abby’s path. Tension was obvious from the outset.

‘Shott’ developed naturally after Dylan’s (Steve Burton) departure. Y&R appeared to have directly swapped Scott for Dylan within Sharon’s life. The new pairing worked, for awhile.

Sharon and Scott seemed to be good for each other. Scott didn’t feel compelled to rescue Sharon from every situation. Sharon appeared to have found someone who supported her goals and offered long-term stability potential.

Late last year Zack (Ryan Ashton) held Abby and Scott hostage in a storage unit, which led to an unexpected connection. ‘Scabby’ was eventually exposed, which enabled Sharon to kick Scott out of the Cottage, which he’d just moved into.

A foreshadowed scene played out recently. Scott unexpectedly arrived in Paris, France, to apologize to Abby. She accepted and then asked him to move Hashtag, which he’d purchased from Newman Enterprises, out of Wisconsin.

Ordway will be off the show for awhile on maternity leave. So, it’s possible that when Abby is rewritten back to GC, Scott will be as well.
