The Young And The Restless Star In Hospital, Opens Up About Painful Disease

The Young and the Restless star Lexie Stevenson is relatively new to the CBS soap opera compared to some of her co-stars, but Y&R fans are already growing rather attached to the talented and sweet actress.  Last year The Young and the Restless made the controversial decision to SORAS Cane and Lily’s twins – and Lexie scored the part of Maddie.

The talented Y&R actress took to social media this week and revealed that she was in the hospital, seeing as how she’s a healthy and happy teenager, CBS soap fans were naturally concerned and curious about what was going on with her.

It turns out the Lexie Stevenson is actually suffering from the painful disease Endometriosis, and this isn’t her first nor will it be her last trip to the hospital.  Rather than suffering in silence, Lexie used her platform as a soap star to raise awareness about Endometriosis in a lengthy and informative blog.

On her official website, Lexie wrote, “For those of you that follow me on Instagram or Snapchat, you have seen that I have been in and out of the emergency room the past couple weeks. I just wanted to have the opportunity to explain what is going on. I have a disease called Endometriosis. I want to explain what Endometriosis is and how it affects women.”

The actress goes in to depth about the pain she has been in for the past four years, and a recent near death experience when she collapsed due to an ovarian cyst rupturing.

Endometriosis is a confusing disease, and often not talked about because people feel uncomfortable openly discussing women’s reproductive parts.  Lexie did a beautiful job of explaining her trials and tribulations with the disease, and all together raising awareness for Endometriosis.
