The Young and The Restless Star Doug Davidson Has A New Message For Fans

Whenever Doug Davidson has something to say, there’s no doubt that his fans will stop what they are doing and listen. This time around The Young and the Restless star has a rather poignant message that he wants to share with his fans.

The actor, who is best known for his role as Detective Paul Williams on The Young and the Restless, has had a major status change on the show, much to his surprise. Just last month Doug expressed how shocked he was when he found out that his contract was not being renewed with the CBS soap.

It was reported that Doug was reduced to a recurring role back in January and that he is not scheduled to appear in any upcoming episodes. What made things especially difficult for Doug was that he wasn’t give any information or communication from the network about the change of his status on the show.

He said in a statement to the press last month, “My contract was not renewed in January, I went on recurring, but just until they had new people in place.”

And while there is no doubt that he is disappointed with how things are being handled behind the scenes, he’s making it pretty clear that he is very grateful for all of the love he’s gotten from the soap fan community.

“If I haven’t told you all lately,” Doug posted on Twitter, “I can’t express how much your kindness, love, loyalty, compassion has meant to me in this very difficult time. I love you all.”
