The Young and The Restless Star Christel Khalil Speaks Out Following Status Change

The Young and the Restless comings and goings indicate that we will be seeing less of Lily Winters-Ashby in the future. That’s because actress Christel Khalil, who plays the troubled mom and businesswoman on the hit CBS, has asked producers to drop her down to recurring status.

It’s a decision that she’s thought about for quite some time now.According to CBS Soaps in Depth, this is a decision that Christel has been thinking about for a very long time.

The Young and the Restless actress tells the publication, “I’ve had a lot of things change in my life. I’m dating someone who lives in Toronto and I’m wanting to kind of expand career wise and kind of be able to do other things. I want to have more time with my son.  So, just a lot of things have been changing in my life over the years, I just wanted to kind of be able to own my time again.”

With that being said, Christel makes it pretty clear that she wasn’t by any means pushed out by the show’s producers.

She adds, “I had Sony and CBS really push for me to try and get me to sign another contract. They were really, really amazing and sweet and thoughtful and generous and everyone was really, really great. In the end, this was my decision.”
