The Young and the Restless Spoilers: Wednesday, September 5 – Phyllis Freaks as Dina Disappears – Summer’s Explosive Return – Lily Suffers

“The Young and the Restless” spoilers for Wednesday, September 5, tease that Lily (Christel Khalil) will face her new reality. In prison, Lily gazes at family photos before breaking down in tears. She looks incredibly distraught over the situation she’s facing.

Over with Cane (Daniel Goddard), he prepares breakfast and offers encouragement to the twins. Cane thinks they need to keep things as normal as possible. He promises Charlie (Noah Alexander Gerry) and Mattie (Lexie Stevenson) that they’ll pay Lily a visit tomorrow.

At Hamilton-Winters, Mariah (Camryn Grimes) shows up and questions why Devon’s at the office. He explains that working from home proved too difficult. Devon fills Mariah in on Lily’s sentencing and how he spoke up for her. He can’t forgive Lily, but he hates that she’s behind bars. Mariah says Lily may score an early release and suggests Devon’s speech must’ve meant a lot to her.

After Mariah takes off, Nate (Brooks Darnell) arrives and offers some support. He doesn’t think Devon should hold himself responsible for Lily’s fate. However, Devon isn’t interested in going to see Lily in prison. It seems it’s just too much, too soon.

At the Abbott mansion, Kyle (Michael Mealor) is sweet with Dina (Marla Adams). Phyllis (Gina Tognoni) draws attention to his kindness and praises him for it. Summer arrives after reading a note about Phyllis and Billy’s (Jason Thompson) move. She rants about the cruise and kicks off another major showdown with her mother.

Summer hurls threats as the exchange gets heated. Since Dina’s getting upset, Kyle forces them to cool it. Later, Phyllis decides to take a walk with Dina, but gets sidetracked by a phone call from Lauren (Tracey E. Bregman). When Phyllis tells Dina to wait for her outside, Dina ends up taking off briefly. Phyllis is in panic mode as she looks all over the place.

At Crimson Lights, Mariah comes to Tessa’s (Cait Fairbanks) rescue. Tessa’s having a disastrous first attempt at being a barista, but Mariah’s advice helps. Mariah hints that Tessa could take some money from her, but Tessa isn’t interested. She opts to find another way.

Next, Tessa gets Charlie some coffee and chats with him a bit. A little later, Summer and Kyle end up the coffeehouse. Mariah and Tessa do some mild sparring with Summer, but she admits they’re cute together. Kyle eventually exits and helps Phyllis track down Dina, who’s been in the den.

Back with Tessa, she corners Devon and lets him know she’s sorry about what happened to Hilary (Mishael Morgan). Tessa also claims she needs $20,000 to help Crystal (Morgan Obenreder), but Devon suggests that she already blew her shot with him. He ends up at the cottage and confronts Mariah about the real reason for Tessa’s cash woes.

Nate drops by Cane’s place to see how he’s holding up. They talk about Lily and how rough the 48-hour waiting period is to see her. Cane would love for Devon to help somehow, but Nate doesn’t think that’s a possibility. The pain runs too deep at this point.
