The Young and the Restless Spoilers Wednesday, September 19: Rey Targets Sharon – Ashley’s Dilemma – Phyllis Shares Her Fears

“The Young and the Restless” spoilers for Wednesday, September 19, tease that it’ll be a big day for Sharon (Sharon Case). At home, Sharon brings Nick (Joshua Morrow) and Mariah (Camryn Grimes) up to speed on a surprising development. It turns out she’ll be giving the student address for her department at the graduation ceremony.

Sharon wants some pointers from the GC Buzz host, so Mariah suggests her mom should take the audience on a journey and just be herself. Later, Sharon makes a moving speech. Mariah and Nick grin as they watch and listen with the other guests. Back at home, Sharon poses for some pics and they all have some bubbly.

After a couple of sweet toasts, Nick and Sharon sneak off for some private time. They make love upstairs while Mariah’s out at the stables. Over with Billy (Jason Thompson), he hears about Phyllis’ (Gina Tognoni) latest chat with Summer (Hunter King). Billy decides he needs to share something as well. He tells Phyllis about his six-figure gambling syndicate buy-in, which prompts concern.

Phyllis finally confesses that she’s uncomfortable with all the risks. She insists that things are getting dangerous. Phyllis tried to support Billy, but she doesn’t know if this is the kind of life she wants. An angry Billy feels like Phyllis just wants to fix him like Victoria (Amelia Heinle). It’s clear that “Philly’s” facing a major hurdle here.

Elsewhere, Kyle (Michael Mealor) updates Ashley (Eileen Davidson) on Billy’s embezzlement. He shares the gambling syndicate news and bring up the wire transfer. Ashley wants to take a peek at Billy’s financial records, but Kyle needs the password first. He goes to Gloria (Judith Chapman) and suggests Billy will drag her into his mess if she doesn’t pitch in.

Gloria caves in and hands over the password. That allows Kyle to show Ashley the $500,000 shocker and ask how they’re going to handle it. Ashley eventually exits, so it seems she needs time to think it over. At the police station, Rey (Jordi Vilasuso) gets into an argument with Paul (Doug Davidson). They talk about the issues in the J.T. (Thad Luckinbill) case and how Rey tends to make his work personal.

However, an intriguing idea comes out of this discussion. Rey notes that they have to focus on the girls’ night party guests. He thinks they should hire Sharon as a victim liaison since she seems to be the weakest link. Will Rey’s plan lead to chaos for the cover-up crew?
